Cholla's challenging 7,225 yards from the back tees transition smoothly into larger target landing areas from all tees. There's only 75 bunkers and holes 1, 2, 8 and 13 don't have any greenside traps. Approach shots on 13 through 18 have zero bunkers in front creating an opening for some low-running shots. As for the scenery, you'll enjoy a vast amount of saguaros, natural palo verde, mesquite, shrubbery and desert vegetation that sprawl through the arroyos and canyons creating a luxuriant desert feel. Be sure to visit Ocotillo's 2,000 sq. ft., award-winning Golf Shop. After a good round of golf, guests may chose to eat in the casual atmosphere at the popular Ocotillo bar, or to dine in the more luxurious restaurant setting of Bernard’s. Private parties or corporate meetings or charity events for hundreds of guests can be held in the new indoor-outdoor addition of the Crown Terrace Ballroom. Devil’s Claw encompasses 242 acres of land comprised of 92 acres of turf, and 150 acres of landscape created from native grasses and indigenous plants. The terrain is subject to mounding elevation changes and is enhanced by breathtaking stands of Cottonwoods, Mesquite, Palo Verde, and Saguaro trees. The Cattail Course features pristine lakes, plunging canyons, and a 2 and ½ mile reconstruction of the original Gila River, evoking the memory of water still naturally snaking through the arid land. The club house at the Whirlwind Golf Course is 8,500 sq. ft. and features a full-service newly renovated restaurant, a golf shop (selected as one of the Top 100 Best Golf Shops for 2005 by Golf World Business), a practice facility, and locker rooms. Staff and management are happy to arrange a clinic for large and small groups for any pre-booked occasion. They also organize private golf instruction and group lessons upon request. The course, the décor of the clubhouse, and the architectural style of the teaching center are designed to evoke the heritage of the surrounding Gila River Indian Community.

by Scott Miller, and the soon-to-open Saguaro course, designed by Bill
Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Located just east of Scottsdale and Fountain Hills,
We-Ko-Pa yields dramatic views of the Sonoran desert and the surrounding
mountains.
